We lead the education industry with insights and partner with leading organizations serving student veterans. That is why we are so excited to partner with Student Veterans of America as one of the leading organizations currently supporting veterans.

About Student Veterans of America (SVA)

As veterans returned home from Afghanistan and Iraq to make use of their GI Benefits, they found that college campuses did not provide adequate support services to assist them in their transition and to meet their educational goals.

Student veterans began to form organized groups on campuses across the country. These groups began to connect through social media with one another- spreading best practices, sharing success stories, and supporting one another to further strengthen the student veteran community. In 2008, members from various chapters formalized this grassroots movement and Student Veterans of America was born.

Since SVA’s founding in 2008, over one million veterans have pursued a postsecondary degree or certificate using VA education benefits. To meet this need, SVA’s presence at the local and national levels has grown to include over 1,400 chapter affiliates, numerous private and nonprofit partners, and most importantly, an expanding list of impactful programs and services for veterans.

Jessica highly recommends connecting to your local SVA chapter. Through her local chapter she was able to attend The Leadership Institute and is now President of American University’s SVA chapter.

The nation’s renewed focus on veteran welfare has ignited change on campuses and in congress. SVA is committed to capitalizing on this momentum to ensure today’s and tomorrow’s veterans are supported in their transition to education and employment.

College Factual and SVA are both committed to veteran success in college and beyond, making us ideal partners. We’re excited to see more come out of this development!
